Only use the Dexcom G6 or G6 Pro CGM Systems with this app.
Gain continuous knowledge of your glucose levels and their trends with the Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) Systems. These systems are designed for diabetes treatment decisions and provide accurate readings without the need for fingersticks or calibration. It is important to consult with your healthcare provider before making treatment decisions using the G6 or G6 Pro.
Note: Fingersticks may still be required for diabetes management decisions if symptoms do not align with readings.
Stay informed about your glucose number by simply glancing at your compatible smartphone or smartwatch. To see if your device is compatible, please visit www.dexcom.com/compatibility. The Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro offer real-time glucose readings every five minutes for patients with type 1 or type 2 diabetes, including children aged 2 years and older.
The Dexcom G6 and G6 Pro Systems provide personalized trend alerts on your smart device, notifying you when your glucose levels are too high or too low. This empowers you to better manage your diabetes. Additionally, the Alert Schedule feature allows you to customize a second set of alerts. You can even choose from a variety of alert sounds, including a Vibrate-Only option for glucose alerts on your phone. Please note that the Urgent Low Alarm cannot be turned off.
The Always Sound feature, enabled by default, ensures that you receive important Dexcom CGM Alerts on your smart device even if your phone is on silent, vibrate, or in Do Not Disturb mode. This allows you to silence calls or texts while still receiving audible CGM Alarm and Alerts. It includes the Urgent Low Alarm, Low and High Glucose alerts, Urgent Low Soon Alert, and Rise and Fall Rate alerts. The Home screen icon indicates whether your Alerts will produce sound or not. For safety reasons, the Urgent Low Alarm and three other alerts (Transmitter Failed, Sensor Failed, and App Stopped) cannot be silenced.
Additional features:
- Share your glucose data with up to ten followers in real time using the Dexcom Follow app. Followers can monitor your glucose data and trends on their compatible smart devices. Please note that Share and Follow functions require an internet connection.
- Access to the Health app allows you to share retrospective glucose data with third-party apps.
- The Today View widget lets you easily view your glucose data on the lock screen of your smart device.
- Add a shortcut to Siri to ask for your current glucose value using a custom phrase.
Please note that the above features are not available on the Dexcom G6 Pro CGM System.
Apple Watch users can conveniently view their glucose information, trend graph, alerts, and alarms directly from their wrist using the Dexcom G6 Apple Watch app. Please ensure you have a compatible smart device to use the app with your Apple Watch.
